“VISIBLE” LOUDSPEAKERS
Audio is an essential element of interior design, as written in the article “INTERIOR DESIGN – INTERIOR’S AUDIO“.
As we’ve already expressed, “Do not confuse the ‘”Audio” with “electrical or technical project” (which remains the responsibility of the technicians), but intend it as aesthetic and functional integration with all elements of interior design. […]”
We have seen that there are audio elements that can be, in the architecture context, “Visible” or “Invisible”. The choice depends on performance and aesthetic characteristics, “linked” to the customer needs (technical and aesthetic), the aesthetic of the interior design, and techniques of the audio system designer.
Let’s begin to analyze how to insert visible elements in interior, which is very simple, interesting, engaging and rewarding, if studied at the time of the study of internal, and not afterwards.
First of all we have to explain what is meant by elements visible: loudspeakers (often also called speakers, stereo speakers…) that can be:
1-bookshelf: loudspeakers typically “small” or “medium” with volumes between 3 and 10 liters, that can technically be inserted on the furniture shelves:
2-on stand: “small” or “medium” speakers with volumes between 3 and 10 liters placed on stands:
3-floorstanding: loudspeakers of larger dimensions, with volumes between 15 and 100 liters (or sometimes even more), the so-called “towers”:
These kind of loudspeakers are so called “visible”: technical objects with with acoustic elements clearly visible: speakers (More or less depending on the technical quality of the product (for example: speakers with one speaker (“Full Range”), up to 3 or more speakers (3-way or or more )) reflex tubes, coverings…etc.
Now let’s see how to integrate these products in the interior design for making them a part of the interior architecture.
Analyzing the design of audio or audio-video equipment at the moment of the design of interiors, integration is very simple, using these simple criteria, interfacing with CARE ORCHESTRA products, a Milan-based (ITALY) company that deals with acoustic tailoring:
-Finishing;
-Colours;
Starting from a floor plan of the interior, CARE ORCHESTRA studies a range of acoustic solutions with its technical and economic characteristics. According to whom is involved in the interior design is defined the integration of products (in this case visible, then we will see the “invisible” in the next articles) defining:
-Finishing:
. laquering (matte, glossy, mica, metallizzata..etc);
. fabric coating (which can reprise armchairs, sofas, pillows..etc);
. leather coating (which can reprise armchairs, sofas, pillows..etc);
. wooden inlays;
. marble;
. inserts of other materials (glass, gold foil, etc.)
in relation to the context and furnishing requirements
-Colours:
.RAL
.PANTONE
.NCS
.AT CHOICE
in relation to the context and to the inserts.
The result of this wonderful “game”, can be like this:
